The 30C+ temperatures I experienced in Singapore just a couple weeks ago feel like a lifetime ago as we enter this cold snap here in Ontario. I had the pleasure of showcasing our wines to the top wine journalists and sommeliers in Singapore. Singapore is traditionally a Burgundy market where they truly understand cool-climate Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs.

All our wines were incredibly well-received. They couldn’t believe these incredible Old World-style mineral-driven wines came from the New World. Many echoed the same observations as the top sommeliers in Europe: “these wines are remarkably close in quality to Premier Cru and Grand Cru Burgundy at a fraction of the price!”
Each year we donate at least three scholarships (this year a fourth) to our deserving summer student employees. In the words of Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” A huge congratulations to Emma G., Eamonn D., Peyton S., and Taylor F. on their hard work and for being our worthy 2022 recipients.
In close to 35 years of working in the wine and restaurant trade, rarely have I found a great restaurant that continues to evolve and get better with time. Au Pied de Cochon in Montreal has long had a reputation for some of the finest Foie Gras, pork, and game dishes in the city.
Today the restaurant continues to evolve and now focuses on showcasing all the very best produce from the farmers and fisherman of Quebec. The foundational cooking is pure perfection, and the honest Quebecois joie-de-vivre hospitality is so welcoming. En plus, they only play Quebecois music. No visit to Montreal is complete without experiencing this cultural gem.
